For the past 30 years, I’ve dedicated myself to helping people express themselves through the art of style. As a stylist, my clients would often ask me how I managed to create outfits that made them feel different than any of the other clothing items in their closets. For years, I couldn’t fully explain what they were feeling. It was only after a long journey of personal discovery that I came to realize the deeper truth and understanding of everything being made from energy first and foremost.
What my clients were feeling wasn’t just about fashion or fabric—it was my love, my intention, and my energy woven into each co-creation together. Every time they opened their closets, they weren’t just seeing outfits; they were feeling the lasting imprint of my care, like a warm hug I’d left behind to access at will. The outfits became living vessels for the energy we poured into them from a highly potent, creative space.
This realization—that energy flows through everything, living on beyond the moment of creation is the foundation of Natchiketa. Just as my clients felt my energy through their clothes, Natchiketa allows the ability to infuse that same love and intention into something even more profound: the blankets that will cradle and nurture the next generation of leader and changemakers.
Love is the substratum of the cosmos. It is the very fabric from which the universe was created. Long before time was measured, the universe was birthed from a boundless sea of love, and we, too, are woven from that same cosmic thread. Gaia, our Earth, cradles us in her ripe womb, nurturing life, growth, and the endless dance of connection that ties everything together. We are all part of this cosmic embrace; eternal and interconnected.
As children, we are in touch with this knowing and a sense of wonder. Childhood is a time when the world is brimming with magic—where the impossible knows “I’m Possible”, and life is seen through eyes that sparkle with the same glow as creation itself. Each moment is filled with the purity of discovery and infused with limitless possibilities. There is an awe and deep understanding of the depth in the simple things, a sense of freedom and lightness that flows effortlessly from the perceived naivete of a child’s spirit.
In the story from the Upanishads, Nachiketa, a young seeker, seeks out the truth of life and death from Yama. Through his courage, wisdom, and devotion to learn about both, Nachiketa learns the ultimate truth: that the soul, like energy, is eternal, boundless, and indestructible. This knowing is the heartbeat and core of Natchiketa, reminding us that life is an ever-changing flow of energy, yet deeply connected to something greater and everlasting and continuously evolving.
Natchiketa is a reminder that love, like energy, lives on, flowing through everything it touches. Each blanket wraps up each child in a cocoon of love and nurturing. Our blankets are more than just cuts of organic cotton fabric stitched together from whimsical childhood prints; they are woven on the cosmic loom from so many artisans creating at the pinnacles of their craft, infused with the energy of everyone involved in their creation. From the farmers who nurtured the organic cotton with care, to the artists creating the patterns, to the artisans who crafted each stitch with intention, these blankets hold the consciousness of all who contributed. Each one with their own hopes and dreams, experiences and knowledge to pass along the threads of energy woven within each blanket.
Every quilt carries a piece of me, along with deep love for creation and all within it along with a warm hug to cradle the next generation of visionaries and dreamers. They carry the warmth of my being, my love, comfort, acceptance and creativity. Life is a tapestry of connection, woven with threads of love and sharing that love is the secret to finding heaven on earth.
Like Indra’s Net of Jewels—an ancient metaphor of interconnectedness—each blanket reflects the whole. According to Vedic philosophy, Indra’s net stretches across the universe, a vast web of jewels, where each jewel reflects every other. The light of one is the light of all, and every part contains the whole. Each blanket serves as a conduit for the love that flows endlessly through
the universe Each action, each thought, and every intention weaving together to form the fabric of life. Through Natchiketa, we celebrate this profound interconnectedness, honoring the magic of childhood, the eternal flow of love, and the infinite web of energy that ties us all together.
